Are you struggling with what to prioritize in your business (or life)? With a thousand things any one of us can do in any given moment, how do you prioritize what to do next?

Being able to set priorities is the key to getting organized and making the most of your time.  Just like when you are starting a business for example, you have to prioritize what it is that you want to accomplish and establish a plan for getting there.

How To Effectively Set Priorities and Succeed

Clarify Your Business Goals. Before you can begin setting your priorities, you must become crystal clear on your business goals. You can’t determine what marketing activity to take first without knowing your business’s immediate objectives.

Differentiate Between What’s Important and What’s Not Important. Prioritize your tasks by level of their urgency and importance. It will help you identify which tasks must be completed promptly and lets you plan ahead according to future deadlines.

Set your routines.  The purpose of setting your routines is relieve some of the pressure caused by that daunting feeling of being behind all the time and not to give you more stress. Build up your routines to what feels comfortable and doable to you.

Set milestones.  Milestones are important markers within project schedules that help to create momentum and drive projects along to completion by breaking your big-picture goals down into smaller, more manageable chunks. They are vital for you to see if you are “on track” or “off track” to take corrective action.

Regularly reassess. Frequently re-examine your goal to ensure it’s still what you really want. Recognize and celebrate each small success along the way. Adapt it if necessary, but keep to your main objective. Work hard and stay focused on the result.

With an understanding of your business priorities, you can set your marketing goals, helps you maintain a clear focus and lets you take steps to ensure that you reach them.
